Product Details

Chestnut Commercial Liquid Culture (200ml)

Bring chestnut mushrooms (Pholiota adiposa) into your commercial production with this 200ml liquid culture jar. Chestnut mushrooms are gaining popularity for their nutty flavour and appealing appearance — a distinctive product that helps differentiate your farm at market. Lab-isolated genetics produced in Canada at our CFIA-licensed facility in Brantford, Ontario.

What's Included

  • One 200ml mason jar with live chestnut mycelium in sterile honey-water medium
  • Self-healing injection port for sterile, repeated draws
  • Synthetic filter cap for continuous gas exchange
  • Lab-isolated Pholiota adiposa genetics — consistent performance across batches

How to Use

Draw culture through the self-healing injection port with a sterile syringe. One 200ml jar provides enough volume to inoculate a complete production batch of grain jars or grow bags.

  • Sterilize the port surface with isopropyl alcohol before each draw
  • Use a sterile 18-gauge needle and syringe
  • Inject 2-5ml into each grain jar or spawn bag
  • Swirl the jar gently before drawing to distribute mycelium evenly

Species Profile

Chestnut mushrooms (Pholiota adiposa) produce clusters of small to medium brown-capped mushrooms with a rich, nutty flavour and satisfying crunch when cooked. They are a premium specialty species that commands strong prices at farmers' markets and restaurants. Chestnut mushrooms fruit on supplemented hardwood sawdust and benefit from cooler fruiting temperatures and high humidity.

Why Commercial Size

The 200ml format lets you maintain uniform genetics across your entire chestnut production line. One jar replaces many individual syringes and keeps your inoculation process efficient. The self-healing injection port supports numerous sterile draws, so you can run multiple production cycles from a single culture source.

Complete your chestnut production setup with our spawn cases and commercial grow bags.
