Honey Agar uses raw, unprocessed honey as its primary carbon and nutrient source, offering a natural alternative to malt-based media. Honey brings a complex blend of simple sugars, trace minerals, enzymes, and amino acids that many mushroom species respond to exceptionally well. If you are looking for vigorous growth with a natural nutrient base, Honey Agar is an excellent choice.
6 pre-poured sterile agar cups (4 oz clear plastic cups with lids), ready for immediate use. Each cup contains a firm, golden-amber agar surface made with real honey.
Store sealed cups in the refrigerator (2–8°C / 36–46°F). Shelf life is 6 months to 1 year when kept sealed and refrigerated. Keep away from direct sunlight. Do not freeze. Inspect for contamination before use — discard any cup that shows unexpected mould or discolouration before opening.
Whether you need a handful for a single project or a full case for ongoing work, we have you covered.
Compare results with LME Agar and PDA (Potato Dextrose Agar) to see which medium your strains prefer. Use LME Carbon Agar for high-contrast isolation work, and bank your best performers on Sawdust Preservation Agar for long-term storage.
