Product Details

Black Oyster Commercial Liquid Culture (200ml)

Power your black oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) production with this 200ml commercial liquid culture jar. Black oysters are among the fastest-colonizing and most productive species for commercial cultivation, and this jar puts lab-isolated genetics at your fingertips in a format made for high-volume inoculation. Produced in Canada at our CFIA-licensed facility in Brantford, Ontario.

What's Included

  • One 200ml mason jar with live black oyster mycelium in sterile honey-water medium
  • Self-healing injection port for repeated, sterile culture draws
  • Synthetic filter cap allowing gas exchange while maintaining sterility
  • Lab-isolated Pleurotus ostreatus genetics — aggressive colonization and heavy yields

How to Use

Use a sterile syringe to draw culture through the self-healing injection port. A single 200ml jar provides enough volume to inoculate a large batch of grain jars or grow bags in one production run.

  • Sterilize the port surface with isopropyl alcohol before each draw
  • Draw culture with a sterile 18-gauge needle and syringe
  • Inject 2-5ml into each grain jar or spawn bag
  • Gently swirl the jar before drawing to suspend mycelium evenly

Species Profile

Black oyster (Pleurotus ostreatus) produces dense clusters of dark-capped mushrooms with a rich, savoury flavour that appeals to chefs and market customers. It is exceptionally fast to colonize and tolerant of a wide substrate range, making it a dependable workhorse species for commercial farms. It fruits well on straw, hardwood sawdust, and supplemented substrates.

Why Commercial Size

The 200ml format is the practical choice for farms running regular production cycles. Standardize your genetics across every batch of spawn without the cost and waste of individual syringes. The self-healing injection port allows dozens of clean draws per jar, keeping your workflow efficient and your contamination rates low.

Complete your setup with our black oyster spawn cases and commercial grow bags.
