Product Details

Shiitake 3790 Commercial Liquid Culture (200ml)

Expand your shiitake production into warmer months with this 200ml liquid culture jar featuring strain 3790 of Lentinula edodes. This warm-weather strain fruits at higher temperatures than traditional shiitake varieties, extending your production season and diversifying your output. Lab-isolated genetics from our CFIA-licensed facility in Brantford, Ontario.

What's Included

  • One 200ml mason jar with live shiitake 3790 mycelium in sterile honey-water medium
  • Self-healing injection port for clean, repeated culture draws
  • Synthetic filter cap for gas exchange
  • Lab-isolated Lentinula edodes strain 3790 genetics — selected for warm-weather fruiting

How to Use

Draw culture from the jar through the self-healing injection port using a sterile syringe. One 200ml jar provides enough volume to inoculate a complete production run of grain jars or grow bags.

  • Sterilize the injection port with isopropyl alcohol before each draw
  • Use a sterile 18-gauge needle and syringe
  • Inject 2-5ml per grain jar or spawn bag
  • Swirl the jar gently before each draw to distribute mycelium

Species Profile

Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) is prized worldwide for its deep umami flavour and versatility in the kitchen. Strain 3790 is a warm-weather variety that fruits at higher temperatures than standard shiitake strains, making it the right choice for summer production or farms with warmer grow room conditions. Like all shiitake, it performs best on supplemented hardwood sawdust blocks and benefits from a cold-shock to initiate fruiting.

Why Commercial Size

The 200ml format is built for production-scale operations. Maintain uniform genetics across every batch of spawn you produce and eliminate the inefficiency of working with individual syringes. The self-healing injection port allows many clean draws per jar, supporting multiple production cycles from a single culture source.

Build your shiitake production line with our spawn cases and commercial grow bags.
