All-In-One Mushroom Substrate Pellets - 20 lbs Pre-Mixed and Ready to Hydrate
Our all-in-one mushroom substrate pellets are pre-mixed in an optimal 80/20 ratio of natural hardwood sawdust and certified organic wheat bran. Unlike generic hardwood fuel pellets from hardware stores that may contain unknown contaminants, adhesives, or mixed wood species, these pellets are purpose-built for mushroom cultivation. Each 20 lb bag makes approximately 10 finished 5 lb grow blocks. Just add water, load into your grow bags, sterilize, and inoculate with mushroom spawn.
Why Pre-Mixed Pellets
Most hardwood mushroom pellets on the market are plain sawdust. You have to source wheat bran separately, measure precise ratios, and blend everything yourself, adding time and room for error. Our pellets arrive pre-blended to the professional 80/20 ratio that commercial farms rely on. The hardwood sawdust provides the carbon-rich base your mycelium colonizes, while the organic wheat bran supplies the nitrogen supplement that drives vigorous growth and heavy fruiting. Open the bag, hydrate, and you are ready to sterilize.
How to Use
Hydrate
Measure out 2 lbs of pellets per 5 lb finished block. Add water to reach 60% moisture content. The pellets will break down into a fluffy, supplemented sawdust substrate within minutes.
Bag and sterilize
Load the hydrated substrate into autoclavable mushroom grow bags. Sterilize in a pressure cooker or autoclave at 15 PSI for 2.5 hours.
Cool and inoculate
Allow bags to cool completely (8-12 hours). Working in clean conditions, add your grain spawn or liquid culture, mix thoroughly, and seal.
Incubate and fruit
Store sealed bags at 20-24 C until fully colonized (2-4 weeks). Then move to fruiting conditions with 80-90% humidity and fresh air exchange.
Compatible Species
- Oyster mushrooms (all varieties)
- Lion's mane
- Chestnut mushrooms
- Shiitake
- Maitake, reishi, turkey tail
- King oyster, black poplar, and other wood-loving species

Who Is This For
This product is designed for growers who have sterilization equipment (a pressure cooker or autoclave) and want the convenience of a pre-mixed substrate formula without paying for pre-sterilized bags. If you do not have a pressure cooker, consider our pre-sterilized mushroom substrate instead, which arrives ready to inoculate with no equipment needed.
For commercial operations scaling production, these pellets eliminate the need for mixing equipment and multiple ingredient suppliers. Consistent formulation batch after batch means predictable results. Store dry pellets indefinitely in a cool, dry location and hydrate only what you need.
