Good kit, easy to follow instructions. Got a decent first flush but the second was smaller. Still worth it for the freshness.

Absolutely loved this kit! First flush came in just 8 days and we harvested about 350g. The black oysters were gorgeous and tasted incredible sautéed with garlic.

I bought 4 kits, White Oyster, Black Oyster, Chestnut and Lion Main. All same environment same treatment. The White Oyster and Lion Mane grew, but the Black Oyster didn't produce anything. The Chestnut was also a dud. I work, so was only able to water twice/day before and after work. It was my first mushroom venture.

This kit is a great idea to for a few reasons. It is a great way to show kids where a food item comes from, especially if you live in a place where a garden is difficult or impossible. It provides you with a super tasty side dish while doing that, and it makes a great gift- something people wouldn't necessarily think to buy for themselves, but will certainly enjoy growing and eating. I ordered the first one mostly for the kids and they loved spraying it every day, watching for the first signs of growth. When the mushrooms poke their heads out, it is really just days before they are ready to harvest so it is super gratifying to the kids tending them. The first crop was more than enough for a good portion for each member of a family of four, and we're hoping our second crop will find it's way out sometime soon. We'll definitely be buying a few more kits as gifts for Christmas, and we'll order very soon. My guess is that they'll be overwhelmed with orders and I want to make sure we get ours!
